Worldwide acclaimed pianist Martina Filjak gave her debut performance at the Austrian Liszt Festival Raiding on 18 June 2016. The Croatian-born artist living in Hannover put together a demanding programme: Franz Liszt’s transcriptions of works by Gaetano Donizettis and his older brother Giuseppe Donizetti as well as two of Liszt’s Légends dedicated to Franz von Assisi and Franz von Paola. Two musical gems by Robert Schumann rounded off Mrs. Filjak’s recital: his Romance no. 2 in F sharp major op.28 along with the Sonata no.1 in F sharp minor op.11.
