Vienna Boys’ Choir: First trip to Oman

royal-opera-house_01Between April 11 and 13, the world’s most famous boys’ choir performed for two nights at the Royal Opera House Muscat. Under the baton of Oliver Stech, Vienna’s “youngest ambassadors” not only sang classical-romantic choral music of Mozart and Schubert, but also folk songs from Central and Eastern Europe as well as world music from South Africa and Pakistan. The positive response of the audience was overwhelming and culminated in “standing ovations”. A special concert held for 90 blind students from an Omani educational institution, presented a memorable experience for the young singers.
